Transitioning: 8 months today!
Posted on September 2, 2011

Today marks my 8th month of transitioning from relaxed to natural hair. I can't believe I haven't had a relaxer since January 2! I'm really proud of myself!

I plan on going to Whole Foods and some natural food stores to stock up on some oils and things to make up my own hair concoctions. I will be blowdrying my hair straight some time next week to go get my split ends trimmed and some of my hair cut possibly. I'd like to cut at least an inch of my hair every two months or something. I'm still using the same conditioners I've been using since last year to do my co-washes (Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship conditioner & Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle Deeeep conditioner ).

I've grown so tired of twistouts, braidouts and rollersets so I'm searching for some kind of protective style so I can just do my hair and leave it alone for a week! I need to master the technique of flat 2-strand twists then get a sew-in because I'm so tired of my hair! I plan on blogging more often to document my progress and maybe help somebody else out there who is embarking on a long-term transition.

Just a 20-somethin' trying to find my way and be great.
