Transitioning: 9 months post relaxer today!

Today marks 9 months of being relaxer-free and I'm proud of myself. I haven't been tempted to straighten my hair or relax it at all because the new growth hasn't really bothered me -- it's the relaxed ends I have a problem with! Trying to prevent breakage and leaving it alone so it will grow have been the main challenges so far. Here are a few pictures of my hair from last week after I put my Proclaim Natural 7 Argan oil on my hair overnight and co-washed the next day with my Vo5 Passion Fruit Smoothie moisturizing conditioner. I love my oil and I've had it since April and I got it from Sally Beauty Supply. It smells great, it's paraben free and a little goes a long way. I like that it comes in a spray bottle too so it's easier to apply.

I purchased the Vo5 conditioner a few weeks ago because I've heard good things about it and it's super cheap ($1) and since I'm a sucker for products that smell nice, that won me over right away. However, I don't like the consistency of this conditioner. It's really thin and watery and it doesn't give me much slip. I feel like I have to use a lot to coat my entire head (even though I have fine hair). I like my conditioners to be thick like my trusty Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship and Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner(s).  It doesn't give my hair that soft feel after co-washing either. It doesn't look like I'll be purchasing any more Vo5 conditioners in the future unless they begin to make the conditioners thicker and change the formula. It makes my hair smell nice, but that's about it. =/ If I had to give this conditioner a grade, I would definitely get a D+.

Eh, so much for trying something new. I'm glad it was only $1. Anyway, here's some photos of my hair after co-washing:
