Curly Girl Chronicles: 6 Months Post-Big Chop
Posted on July 2, 2012

Today marks six months of me being 100% natural! Time flies! Last year around this time I was longing for the days where I would be able to twist my hair, tuck some bobby pins in it and be on my way. Six long months of trying to blend my straight ends with my wavy/curly roots and all that came to an end on January 2, 2012. My hair has grown a lot and it might be about the same length it was before I cut it. I'm still testing products and trying to build a solid regimen, but I do know that my hair still loves Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship conditioner even after 2 years of me using it. I admit, I get a little lazy sometimes because having natural hair is hard work and I'm still getting the hang of everything, but I'm glad I got rid of the relaxer, especially since I was rocking roller sets, twist outs and braid outs to achieve a curly look half of the year anyway because I was not about to waste time flat ironing my hair just for it to frizz up. So yeah, that's my spill on my 6 month mark! I love my hair and I can't wait for it to get longer so I can test out more styles and all that jazz!

P.S. I hate shrinkage. A lot.

Just a 20-somethin' trying to find my way and be great.
