December has returned once again and a very important day worldwide is here once again too. World AIDS Day
is the day we spread awareness, honor those living with HIV/AIDS and those who have died due to the virus by participating in causes worldwide.

- 33.4 million people are living with HIV/AIDS worldwide.
- More than 25 million people have died of AIDS worldwide since 1981, when the first cases were reported.
- African Americans are the #1 race affected by HIV/AIDS.
- 97% of those affected live in middle and low income countries.
You can donate to charities, participate in walks, or simply do your part by becoming informed and spreading the word, but most importantly, know your status. Today is dedicated specifically to HIV/AIDS awareness, but do not forget this virus affects millions 365 days a year. Wear your red ribbons, pins, shirts, etc. to show that you're supporting the fight against AIDS and the spread of this disease.
