I've decided to join Luvvie's (of Awesomly Luvvie) #31WriteNow Writing Challenge for the month of August for a couple of reasons: 1) I need to challenge myself more. 2) I need to write more and this will help me to stick to it and hold myself accountable since I'm terrible at that when it comes to blogging and writing in general.
So for Day #1, I decided to create a small list of things I want and need to do to improve my life overall so here goes!
I really need to start wearing my perfume more often. It sits on my bathroom counter because well... sometimes I forget it's there I guess. My mom bought me my first perfume in 2007 when I was 19 for Valentine's Day. It was a 1.7 oz of Vera Wang Princess... and it's still half full. Six years later and I haven't used it up yet! I've got to do better, y'all.
I need to get off my butt and get work when it comes to this health/fitness thing. I don't eat as much fast food as I used to, but I would like to tighten up on my eating habits overall and last, but not least get off the couch and work out. That's my biggest obstacle and I need to work on it.
Since I've graduated from college, I've been back home for two years and the only place I've been is back to Nashville, which is where my alma mater is for Homecoming and graduation. I have a lot of places I want to visit and being stuck in my hometown just isn't cutting it.
I read a lot of news/magazine articles, but I would like to get into more books. I'm not sure of the genres I'm interested in just yet. I just need to find something that will keep my attention. My most recent read was The Defining Decade
by Dr. Meg Jay and I really enjoyed it. It's time to put my library card to use more often and explore. In the words of Arthur and the gang, "Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card!"
I have so many ideas, but I sometimes put them off when I'm overwhelmed or discouraged. I definitely want to put more plans into motion, hence the whole purpose of this list and joining Luvvie's challenge! Baby steps people, baby steps.
I need to write more. Plain and simple. I want to write for a living so I need to dedicate more time to it. You can't grow and progress if you're not willing to take time out and work on it.
Networking goes hand in hand with making sure I write more. There's always room for new opportunities and just meeting awesome new people.
These last two years have been blah since I've graduated from college and I really want 2014 to be different. I wanna map out what I wanna do, when I wanna do it and how I wanna do it. This will really help since my mind is always all over the place with different things I want to do. It'll create some organization and hopefully leave me less overwhelmed.
I'm pretty sure I left a couple of things off my list, but these are some of the things that came to mind first. I'm determined to knock out 31 (now 30 days) of blogging back to back. Let's go!
Do you have a to-do list? Feel free to share!
