After watching Braxton Family Values for a few seasons and hearing Tamar Braxton sing paired with her tell-it-like-it-is personality, I automatically became a fan. As soon as she released Love and War
in December and The One
May as singles, I was ready for the album. People may give Tamar flack for having an "extra"personality, but that woman SINGS. She's the baby sister of one the biggest R&B singers of all time , but she's definitely making a name for herself with her own voice. I keep mentioning that 2013 is the year of music and it just keeps getting better! 2013 has been a huge year for R&B music especially and that's amazing to see since R&B hasn't really been popular amongst the masses since the early 2000s. It's exciting to see and I just hope that R&B artists continue to get shine and release quality music from here on out.
Okay enough with my chatter, let's get down to business. Tamar Braxton's Love and War album is filled with a little bit of everything so here are some of my favorite tracks:
- Love and War
- The One
- All The Way Home
- Hot Sugar
- Black Tears
Four of the songs listed are singles and for good reason. Love and War, The One, and All The Way Home are obviously songs about being in love and even though I'm not in a relationship, Tamar takes me there with her delivery! Also, Hot Sugar is that song you can bounce and pop to. I was anxious to hear the final version of that after watching her perform it during her showcase on Tamar And Vince.
If she comes to a city near me once she starts touring, I'll definitely be in the building. We've been lacking in the vocalist department for a minute when it comes to female artists, but Tamar is definitely on my list of personal favorites. If you want quality music, amazing vocals and production, I recommend you pick up Love and War. Hopefully you'll love it as much as I do!
